What are the types of Petri dishes?

1. Classification by use
Petri dishes can be divided into cell culture dishes and bacterial culture dishes. Cell culture dishes focus on the needs of cell adhesion growth, and surface treatment is conducive to cell attachment and growth; bacterial culture dishes have a smooth surface, are not easy to breed bacteria, and ensure the accuracy of the experiment.
2. Classification by manufacturing materials
It is divided into plastic culture dishes and glass culture dishes. Plastic culture dishes are light and shatterproof, low-priced, and suitable for mass production and disposable use; glass culture dishes have high transparency and good heat resistance and are suitable for occasions with high environmental requirements.
3. Classification by shape
Petri dishes can be divided into common shapes such as cylindrical, square, and rectangular. The cylindrical shape has a large volume and is suitable for many cell or bacterial cultures; square and rectangular shapes are easy to stack and store.
4. Classification by size
The diameter of the culture dish ranges from 15mm to 200mm, and different sizes are suitable for experiments of different scales.
5. Classification by partition
It can be divided into 2-partition and multi-partition culture dishes, and comparative experiments can be carried out in the same culture dish to improve efficiency.
