Positive charged microscope slides are specially designed glass slides that have a positive electrostatic charge on their surface, enhancing the adhesion of negatively charged biological samples, such as cells and tissues.
A microscope slide is a thin, flat piece of glass, typically measuring 75 by 25 mm (3 by 1 inches) and about 1 mm thick, used to hold specimens for examination under a microscope. The specimen is usually mounted on the slide and covered with a thinner cover slip to protect it and enhance clarity during observation. Microscope slides facilitate quick insertion and removal from the microscope, making them essential tools in laboratories for biological research, medical diagnostics, and educational purposes.
To prepare a slide, place the specimen on the slide, add a drop of liquid (for wet mounts), and gently lower a cover slip over the specimen. For dry mounts, simply place the specimen on the slide and cover it.
Microscope slides are made from optical-quality glass such as soda lime or borosilicate glass, but some may be made from specialty plastics or fused quartz for specific applications.
